Except for some odds and end and art work, we finished our furniture shopping for the condo. It’s been two jam-packed weeks but we now have just about everything we need.
It will all be delivered in a month, giving us plenty of time before our first guests arrive for the Fourth of July holiday.
My favorite purchases this week were the items we need for the two balconies. Two luxurious chaise lounge chairs and a table will go one one, four extra tall chairs and a table for outdoor eating will go on the other.
We didn’t skimp on these items. A big draw for our condo are the beach views from those two balconies. I know I’ll want to spend as much time out there as possible when I visit, so we looked for solid, comfortable furniture, which we found at Destin’s Patios Plus.
ennifer bought bedspreads, sheets and lots of pillows for the beds and the sofas. We also bought lamps, tables and a couple more inside chairs.
We met with Jeff Vaughn from All Pro Blinds, who came by and measured all the doorwalls and windows for custom blinds and draperies.
The granite countertop guys came by and measured the granite countertops for the kitchen and baths.
And I stopped by Cox cable to pickup the five cable TV boxes and Internet modem. Earlier in the week, I stopped at the local Best Buy and picked up five wall mounts for the TVs.
Meanwhile, our contractor Al McNew and his crew were finishing up the ceramic tile installation for all rooms in the condo. They start on the bathrooms next and then the final painting.
It was pretty much all work and no play, though. The only beach time we got was on Friday afternoon, just before we headed back to our Michigan home for two weeks. In the photo above, those are my feet chillin’ in a beach chair out front.
We ate out most nights, which gave me time to collect menus which we’ll leave in the condo with our recommendations so our guests will have some ideas on the area's dozens of top rated restaurants.
